Before & after

The photograph

The artwork

Drag the handle. On one side, the photo you send; on the other, the artwork you hang.

Our Editorial cover style

Your house as the cover story. Flat, painterly fields of colour, simplified confident shapes, soft edges and a quiet wit in the framing — in the spirit of the great magazine cover illustrations, minus the masthead.

The most designed of the seven: the one that looks curated the moment it’s on the wall.

The style

What makes it editorial

Best in: kitchens, city flats and design-minded homes — and the style most often bought for friends.

Shapes, not lines

The facade reduced to elegant, characterful colour fields — gouache-flat, with subtle painted texture and no fussy detail.

A refined palette

Muted, harmonious colour led by the house’s own hues and warmed by soft golden light.

A quiet wit

Framed like a cover story — your address as the issue of the month. No lettering; the artwork stands alone.

Questions

Good to know

What exactly is an editorial cover style?

The manner of the classic magazine cover illustration — flat painterly colour, simplified shapes, a certain knowing calm — with your house as the subject. No masthead, no type; just the picture.

Will the colours match our house?

They start from it — the house’s real colours, softened into a muted, harmonious palette so the whole piece hangs together like a printed cover.

Is it a good gift?

It’s the one most often bought for someone else — the friend with the good kitchen, the couple with the new flat. It flatters without gushing.

Which size suits it best?

Souvenir — close to a real cover’s proportions and happy anywhere. Vignette pairs beautifully if you’re making a set.

The other six styles

Same house, different temper — every style begins with your photograph.

The quietest style we make. Your facade in fine warm ink on open white paper — every line earned, nothing that isn't.

Soft washes and warm daylight, your house exactly as it stands. The one people mean when they say "make it feel like home."

A small-press print: two or three flat spot colours, halftone grain and a charming off-register slip. The most graphic thing we make.

Crisp white line on one flat drafting blue — your house drawn as the plan it might have been built from.

Confident pen lines, then loose translucent washes for light and a whisper of colour. The most traditional style we make.

The grandest of the seven. Loaded brushwork, glowing light and gallery depth — for the house that's earned a portrait.
