Before & after

The photograph

The artwork

Drag the handle. On one side, the photo you send; on the other, the artwork you hang.

Our Oil painting style

The grandest of the seven. Your facade as a late-nineteenth-century easel painting — generous, loaded brushstrokes, real impasto catching the light, deep shadows and a mellow gallery patina. Clearly a painting; never a photograph in fancy dress.

For big walls, rich rooms and proper occasions — the style people choose when the house has earned a portrait.

The style

What makes it an oil

Best in: dining rooms, hallways and above the mantelpiece — and at Monument size, where the brushwork gets room.

Visible brushwork

Loaded strokes and palette-knife texture on the sunlit walls; broken colour shimmering in the shadows.

Depth and mood

Glowing highlights, deep shadows and a slightly antique palette — real atmosphere, not a filter.

Faithful underneath

For all the looseness in the paint, every gable, bay and chimney stands in its true place.

Questions

Good to know

Will it look like a real painting?

That’s the whole intention — the brushwork, the broken colour and the depth of shadow are all in the artwork, and they carry beautifully to print. It reads as a painting from across the room and up close.

Is it too formal for a modern flat?

Grand doesn’t have to mean gilt. In a slim natural or black frame, an oil against a plain wall is a lovely collision of old and new.

Will it really match our house?

Yes — the looseness is in the paint, never in the structure. The true silhouette, the real windows and the door’s actual colour all stand exactly as they should.

Which size suits it best?

Monument, honestly — it’s the statement style, and it fills a wall the way a painting should. Souvenir makes a fine anniversary or retirement gift.

The other six styles

Same house, different temper — every style begins with your photograph.

The quietest style we make. Your facade in fine warm ink on open white paper — every line earned, nothing that isn't.

Soft washes and warm daylight, your house exactly as it stands. The one people mean when they say "make it feel like home."

A small-press print: two or three flat spot colours, halftone grain and a charming off-register slip. The most graphic thing we make.

Crisp white line on one flat drafting blue — your house drawn as the plan it might have been built from.

Confident pen lines, then loose translucent washes for light and a whisper of colour. The most traditional style we make.

Your house as the cover story: flat painterly colour, confident shapes and a quiet wit. The one that looks curated the moment it's up.
